Department of Chemistry, the curriculum offered by the department provides ample opportunities for developing skills in chemical testing analysis and experimentation. It has a well-equipped laboratory and caring faculty to make the lab training enjoyable. The department is actively engaged in research in the frontier areas of topical importance. The faculties are actively involved in sponsored research projects.

Some of the thrust areas of research activities by the faculty members of the department are Natural Product, Polymer Chemistry, Coordination Chemistry, Synthetic Organic Chemistry, Materials Chemistry, Nanomaterials, Semiemprical calculations of inorganic compounds, Catalysis, Supramolecular Chemistry, Theoretical and Computational Chemistry

The Department holds a remarkable record of achievements and accomplishments amidst challenges, which were transformed successfully into stepping-stones for its progress. The Department subscribes to International and National journals and is actively involved in publication of research papers in international and national journals. The faculty members and research scholars present papers in national and international seminars and conferences.

Industrial visits are organised every year for the final year UG and PG students to expose the students to the manufacturing processes and spectroscopic instruments.
