Library
- The library in Mahavidyalayam is the delivery room for the birth of ideas to create a great person! It has a specialized collection of books, journals, magazine & other resources in literature, arts, science, humanities, value education, social science and management too.
- Our library subscribes national and international journals in print and e-journals. Also e-books, back volumes and CDs/DVDs are available for their updating.
- It has a video conferencing facility, NPTEL video courses, swayam programme and other e-learning resources regarding their academic syllabus.
- Library is using KOHA software for automation renewal facility. Also, book bank facility is available for economically backward students.
- Reference materials for competitive exams and civil service exams are easily accessible in the library.
- To update the students with day-to-day affairs we provide the daily newspapers clippings on current topics and also categories to develop their knowledge in career employment opportunities.

Laboratory
The department of physics, chemistry and computer science has facilities for carrying out their experiments in their relevant areas.
The entire laboratory pursues the development and application of quantitative techniques for experiments as presented in the prescribed university syllabus.

Computer Lab
- The computing facilities for information technology programme comprises all necessary software packages are available for laboratories.
- The department has an array of application software suites from all leading developers (including Microsoft, oracle, adobe, relational etc.) Exclusive and fully-equipped laboratories with configured systems.
- Our computer lab is generally open almost all the time 24 hours/7. Lab timings followed, from morning 8.30 until evening at 6.00 pm.
- Our lab has the latest technology hardware and software installed for supported student courses and also for their projects our college has high-tech advanced computers with LAN and secured firewall internet services through wireless connectivity and LCD projection system, printers,etc,.
- As a part of SMV’s pursuit to be technologically in sync with the times, the latest genuine softwares are installed to the computers.
- The connections to all the users are secured with the administrative server’s username and password.
- These computers and related electronic equipment are tested and maintained with a scheduled frequency to keep the facility and running.
- Every three months all the computers and related equipment are cleaned with the appropriate blower and tools.

Language Lab
- The language lab is a versatile fully digital multimedia teaching tool combining all the main features of a traditional method of communication with the unique features of computer-based training system we offer students access a new world of information and proficiency through visual, audio and two separate software named global era consists of AL, CL, EC clients which helps the students to enhance and enrich their communication skill.
- Through this students are trained to develop communication skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking using headphones with mikes.
Also, they are learned through group activities like group presentations, discussions. They are learned to think logically with clarity of their speaking skills through activities, drama, just a minute, vocabulary, etc. - Our language lab acts as a virtual mentor to enhance English Speaking Skills
It’s environment that is Computer Assisted Language Laboratory (CALL). - We installed specialized learning software like AL-Client, EL-Client and CL-Client.
- This software allows learners a private environment for self- paced practice.
- To break the blockage and hesitation from students and to make them aware of the need to learn better Pronunciation through stress on-words accent , intonation , and rhythm. Faculties will have a session Planner to carry out the Teaching learning method in an effective manner
- Listening, Speaking, Writing, and Reading (LSWR) are the four skills which play an important role in the acquisition of language and learning and this skill are easily acquired by our students using our language lab.
- Thus, English lab corrects, guide, teaches and enhance the speaking skills without causing any embarrassment in a sequential manner so that they can improve their skills faster and accurately.
Chemistry Lab
- The Spacious chemistry laboratory provides hands-on experience to observe carefully; interpret their observation; predict and arrive at logical conclusions about the world of chemicals. This induces inquisitiveness in all our future scientists to understand the necessity and importance of chemistry in day to day life.

Playground
- Sport is a way of life strengths and encourages the students.
- The playground has 400 metres track and it also has facilities for all track and field events special training in all types of traditional games during festivals like diwali,pongal,vinayaga chaturthi etc,
- Also games like volleyball, football, hockey, cricket, chess, carrom, throw ball and other games also practiced.

Health Care Centre
- Our health care centre addresses all the health need of our students on a continuous basis throughout the year.
- Our core objective is that students are given the best care at all times in all spheres especially in their health.
- Being the most protected gurukula educational system with a residential facility the student is treated in such a way to feel like their home.
- The most unique feature is we have a nurse and well know doctors to take care of the students’ health on the shift basis.
Canteen
- The canteen includes a chat, bakery food court, where variety of tasty food prepared with high hygienically way available at specially subsidized.
- The canteen plays a role in this regard by catering daily with the nutritional requirements of students and along with it provides the stationary items with the academic needs of those students too.
- The canteen starts functioning in the morning at 10 and evening till 4’o clock. Food is being served to students at the conventional rate.
- There are arrangements to supply snack, homemade rose milk, badam milk, nanari sarbath, at reasonable rates.
- The surrounding of the canteen are kept neat and given special attention to hygiene and cleanliness there is a separate waste disposal pot for the canteen.
- The aroma of snacks keeps us stick to it rather than depend on junk food outside. Our college canteen provides a homely ambiance for students, staffs and visitors moving into the campus.
- Its functioning is supervised by a committee consisting of teachers.
Smart Class Room
- Every classroom at our college is spacious, bright, ventilated and furnished with ergonomically designed furniture.
- The hi-tech equipment enables faculty to conduct classes in a way that enables students to make use of every available resource from one point at the click of a button.
- The smart classroom integrated with the projector and a laptop.
- It also acts like an electronic board where everything written on it can be saved as a file for future reference.
- Each class has a seating of capacity of 60 and is sound performed. This benefits the students to innovatively impart knowledge.
- We provide students to develop their communication to enhance confidence to be corporate personality also it helps them to handle stress interviews, and to indicate a sense of values and ethics to live around the society with social responsibility.
- A smart classroom cultivates traditional lecture teaching space that can be used to enhance instruction of a course.
- The smart classroom is equipped with the basic technology that will able to connect laptop to the projector.
- Features a smart podium with a touch panel control system, pc and the laptop connected, document camera.DVD/VCD player, projector and screen and also have an overhead transparency projector.
- Many of the rooms include a standard PC/media lectern, projector screen, speakers, amplifier, DVD/VCD deck and sources switch control system.
Temple
The college main shrine purely dedicated to BHAGAVAN SRI RAMAKRISHNAN, HOLY MOTHER SRI SARADA DEVI and SWAMI VIVEKANANDA is located in the middle of our campus. Our college has been in architecture with artistic potential campus as”TEMPLE OF EDUCATION”.
Students has been trained to chant Vedic mantras and regular prayer routine make them be in positive vibration; that creates the higher level concentration of the mind.

Hostel
- Our college is a residential institute which provides spacious accommodation to students to reside in the hostel.
- The hostel and hostel office is located within the premise. Architecturally designed building with green beautiful scene atmosphere of plenteous trees and gardens breaks the monotony of the mind .Meticulous care is taken by Sanyasin sisters with a real touch of love, to ensure a comfortable and a happy stay for all students.
- The hostel is administrated by a warden and assistant warden in matters related to the various activities of the hostel.
- The Mahavidyalayam is a residential institute and provides accommodation to all the students of the college
Numerous interesting recreational, sports, literary and serial activities which including moral values take place in the hostel during the academic year. - Students can relax in the evenings or a holiday or spend their leisure time in the common room which is equipped with a T.V and also with a high-quality stereo music system and a variety of cassettes are available.
- The sports material which includes all the traditional and sporty games like volley ball, throw ball, tennis court, T.T, etc. The hostel library has a good collection of general books, fictions, newspapers and magazines.
- The cultural activities for the year are planned by fine arts forum. The gardening activity is also planned by eco but which includes the vegetable farming, medicinal herbs, beautiful flowers etc
- Also, they all enjoy garden dinner with the proper interval in a year decided by the utbhodan vaibav committee.
- The Mess has been overthrown by the students with the name of mess committee includes mess secretary, coordinator, Asst coordinator who periodically take the stock of food and it also contains serving group which has routine where every student will get the opportunity to do it with involvement for inculcating a sister relationship among the students.
- The Cooling area has complete sanitation in with fire extinguisher.
- The Hostel includes the guest house facility for parents, guests and official person.
- The most remarkable of staying in Mahavidyalayam is for the safety and security of women’s child which will make them to feel like staying in the home.

- It serves as a place for encouraging creativity and fostering communication. Our auditorium has a world-class air-conditioned one and equipped with LCD, OHP and high-quality projectors.
- It has been well furnished with acoustics. A regular venue for conference, workshops and seminars, this auditorium has all the facilities to enhance the learning process.
- It is a vast space that serves the varied requirements of quality education. While it is often utilized for cultural activities and sporting activities.
Internet Facilities
- A network of all systems with internet connection has a blazing 10 Mbps leased line speed. Students are provided with several nodes in order to use the internet most efficient and very effectively with the high speed broadband facility.
- It accommodates 50 systems in the lab. We encourage our students to carry out deeper research for their projects.
- Through this, they can build their hands-on experience and upgrade their learning skills. Ample time is allotted to train our students practically.

- Buses are provided with free-paying for the faculties and non-teaching staff from villupuram.
